Mission and purpose
The mission of the Collection of scientific works “Ukrainska biohrafistyka = Biographistica Ukrainica” is to provide information support for the development of theoretical, methodological, and practical achievements in the field of scholarly biographical research, as well as literary biographical and autobiographical writing, and to promote the dissemination of biographical knowledge.
The purpose of the Collection is to create a platform for scholarly communication among researchers of historical experience and the contemporary stage of development of biographical studies; to publish the results of the latest research in the field of source studies, preparation of biographical works, the culture of biographical publications, studies of historical and cultural figures, biobibliography, and the dissemination of biographical knowledge in society.
Aims and Objectives
The aim of the Collection is to publish articles and scholarly methodological materials characterized by scientific novelty in addressing and solving current issues of biographical research, as well as aimed at advancing the theoretical and methodological foundations of biographical studies as a special historical discipline and its interdisciplinary connections, in particular with literary and cultural studies as important domains of biographical research.
Objectives:
- to develop issues related to the history and theory of Ukrainian biographical studies;
- to highlight problems, trends, and prospects for the development of Ukrainian and global biography and biobibliography;
- to broaden the thematic scope of biographical research;
- to study cultural influences and interactions within the context of biographical studies;
- to examine forms, genres, and terminology in historical-biographical discourse;
- to introduce innovations in the forms and methods of biographical writing;
- to test contemporary models of biographical reconstruction;
- to promote the implementation in Ukraine of the latest achievements of European and global humanities;
- to introduce into scholarly circulation materials on lesser-known, insufficiently or biasedly represented figures of Ukrainian history, science, and culture, as well as to publish studies devoted to the biographies of outstanding personalities.

Manuscript processing terms
After receipt of the article to the editorial office, during two weeks an assessment is made regarding the compliance of the given manuscript with the thematic profile, formal requirements for publication (text volume, availability of annotations, References, etc.). If the procedure completes successfully, the article is submitted for consideration to the editorial board. The decision of the editorial board is accepted during 6–8 weeks. If an article receives an approval, the manuscript is transmitted to preprint processing. The total time of manuscript processing term is 5–7 months.

The Collection provides direct open access to its content, based on the following principle: free open access to research results contributes to increasing the global exchange of knowledge.
